I was cleaning one of my storage boxes when I found these:
Yeas, sweetie. You’re looking at my stationery collection. I have memo pads, stickers, sticky notes, pens, deco tapes, letter sets, notebooks — cuteness overload! I started buying these babies more than a year ago because I have a soft spot for all things kawaii.
My love for stationery started when I was in grade school. How old was I — 6? Well, I first had a sheet of My Melody writing paper (or stay-shoo as we called it back then) that my classmate gave me and because I was an astute trader, I bartered my way into building my own collection. Hello Kitty, Little Twin Stars, Tsukuba, My Melody, Kerokerokeroppi, Zashikibuta, Tuxedo Sam — the works! I also had loads of those small note pads that smelled so good.
My obsession with stationery lasted for three years. And then I had to stop because I lost everything when I was in 3rd grade. I’m not even sure how it happened. I vaguely remember boarding a jeepney on my way home from school, got off my stop and the next thing I knew, I can’t find the long plastic envelope containing my most prized possessions. It was so depressing that I didn’t have the strength to build a new collection from scratch. Worse, I didn’t even have the money to buy the cheapest memo pad to appease my broken heart. End of sob story. 🙁
Anyway, now that I can afford it, I add a few items to my collection from time to time. I’m no longer obsessed with stationery as I once was but I do enjoy looking at my collection whenever I can — inspecting every sheet, every envelope, taking in the girly sweetness of scented paper.
