GenSan Revisited: The Royale Lounge at East Asia Royale Hotel

27 Apr

An absolute sushi madness! This sums up my experience at Royale Lounge, East Asia Royale Hotel’s 24-hour restaurant.

Last April 4, I was with Lyle, Avel Manansala and Marzz for dinner at Royale Lounge. The very accommodating Gensanites wanted us to try Royale Lounge’s very popular Buffet Dinner and frankly, I found another reason to ruin my diet.

As soon as our group arrived at Royale Lounge, we were ushered to a table nearest the Sushi Bar. And I was like: “Oh-mi-gawd. A sushi bar!” And as if drawn by an invisible force, I propelled toward the sushi bar until Avel tactfully reminded us to check out the other dishes included in the day’s menu as well. I managed to stifle a laugh at that because I totally forgot that buffet dinners at Royale Lounge aren’t entirely about sushi. Guests also get to enjoy the Salad Bar, the Fruit Bar, and feast on a variety of delectable dishes.

One thing I really like about Royale Lounge is its classy yet welcoming interiors. Architect Brix Teng used lots of creams and browns in the restaurant (I guess the creative use of earth tones is his trademark). The soft interplay of colors really make the Royale Lounge exude warmth and timelessness, even made more welcoming by the use of lighting designed to establish mood and ambience.

Royale Lounge also features acoustic artists to entertain guests while they enjoy dinner and even through after-dinner coffee and pastries. The restaurant also has free WiFi so it’s a haven for those who eat, drink, and breathe the internet.

Since Royale Lounge is located within East Asia Royale Hotel, there is always a lot of things to do after dinner. The East Asia Royale Hotel compound is, as always, alive with activity that night being the hub of GenSan’s nightlife. There was a body painting show that night and although I didn’t get to watch the show as originally planned, I didn’t really mind. I had a big sushi dinner at Royale Lounge in the company of Lyle, Avel, and Marzz so I couldn’t ask for more.
