Having Cheeseburger in Paradise

25 Nov

Cheeseburger in paradise.

Cheeseburger in paradise.

Medium rare with mustard would be nice.

Heaven on earth with an onion slice.

I’m just a cheeseburger in paradise.

– Jimmy Buffet

One of the best things about Davao City is that you can buy a decent meal for less than a hundred bucks- drinks and sides included. Davao denizens have always been proud of the city’s long list of restaurants and diners offering delicious meals at rock-bottom prices.  Simply put, Davao City is paradise for food-lovers!

Recently, I have acquired a liking for cheeseburger.  I have tried McDonald’s home delivery service and ordered my fair share of McDonald’s tasty cheeseburgers.  Oh well, I also have chicken and soda and large fries and sundae with it, if I am to be honest. ;-)

But if you’re going to ask me what’s the best value-for-money cheeseburger in the city, my answer might surprise you. I don’t know what yours is but   my definition of a value-for-money cheeseburger is flavorful cheeseburger with a  good price attached to it.  So I’m saying that the best value-for-money cheeseburger in Davao City is not McDonald’s.  Not Space Burger’s. Not even the 100% beef charbroiled burger from Brothers Burger.  And certainly not Big Al’s.

If there is a Hamburger Competition, I say Harley Blvd Motor Cafe’s Cheeseburger wins the best value-for-money cheeseburger category hands down.  The patty is thick and succulent and they certainly don’t scrimp on the cheese either.  They serve the cheeseburger open-faced and you’ll see that that ingredients are nothing fancy- just the right stuff to give ooompphh to that reliable ol’ cheeseburger goodness!

Priced at Php60 per order, Harley’s cheeseburger is a delicious, reasonably priced meal you’ll surely enjoy even without sides or fixins. I had  it when I watched 2012 and wolfing down huge chunks of the cheeseburger was the best thing about that movie experience.  Lolssss.

Harley Blvd Motor Cafe is a 9-week old food joint located at the corner of Juan Luna and Juan Dela Cruz Sts., Davao City (also a short walk from the Ateneo de Davao University Jacinto gate).  It is owned and managed by the husband and wife team of Sam and Joy.  Must-haves at the cafe are the cheeseburgers, chicken wings, and the omelettes.

I could not agree with you more. When I ate at Brothers Burger prior to Harley’s, I thought I was already eating the best burger in Davao City. But I stand corrected. Harley’s is hands down the tastiest, best-value-for-your-money hamburger in town. I’d easily pay double its price. That’s how awesome it is.

I also love the fact that the cheese is right there and I don’t have to look for it.

Everything that you said — I agree 100%.

I was told that they have sizzling sisig too. Let’s give it a try when we pay them a visit again.

Hey, I’d like to try what I have been missing in Davao City. Harleys new burger (Cheese)from the picture here really convinced me to give it a try. I tried (Space Burger) (Brothers Burger) at Damosa, thinking these are the best burgers in town…but, with your comments bout Harleys., it sounds terrific! Ive been out of the city for quite sometime and in just 2 years of absence we have new places to go and at least places we can be proud of and affordable., way…very affordable!

    Thanks for the info…

Please try Harley’s cheeseburger and while you are there, you might want to try their spanish omelette and fried chicken wings.

Other places you must try out are Lachi’s and Tiny Kitchen. Lachi’s pastries and unforgettable pork ribs are very popular among diners. Tiny Kitchen’s pastries are just as good. I also like their pasta-based dishes. I heard they serve delicious pizza, too.
